Every day on the campaign trail, I hear the same concern from families across the district: the cost of everything is going up, but paychecks are staying the same.
Whether itβs filling up the gas tank, buying groceries, or paying utilities, working people are being forced to make tough decisions. It shouldnβt be this hard to keep food on the table and keep the lights on.
While federal inflation continues to squeeze our household budgets, Georgia has a historic state budget surplus. I believe that surplus belongs to you, not the state. We must deploy smart, defensive state policies to deliver immediate financial relief to working families.
Concrete Steps to Lower the Cost of Living:
- Accelerate Income Tax Cuts: I will vote to accelerate the scheduled state income tax cuts, keeping more of your hard-earned money in your pocket.
- Double the Homestead Exemption: Providing robust property tax relief so that homeowners arenβt taxed out of their own neighborhoods.
- Capping Utility Fees: Reining in arbitrary fee increases from utility conglomerates to protect low- and fixed-income seniors.
We canβt control national monetary policy, but we can control how Georgia treats its taxpayers. Letβs make Georgia the absolute best state to raise a family and build a life.
