Position Overview

The Substitute Custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of Jeff Davis County school facilities. Operating on a flexible schedule to cover staff absences, this position ensures that classrooms, hallways, and public areas remain sanitary and conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms.
• Assist classroom teachers in the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events.
• Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate areas of the school building.
• Execute basic groundskeeping and trash removal before, during, or after school hours.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED preferred but not strictly required.
• Must pass State/FBI Criminal History Clearance and fingerprinting.
• Physical ability to lift heavy supplies and operate basic industrial cleaning equipment.
